A week away from moving day

Hi friends!

I want to start by thanking you all for reading my blog. I hope this is something I can continue as we move & get settled into our new home. For those who don't know let me summarize for just a moment.

My husband J and I have been married for 6 years , we have 1 daughter who is 10 months old and we are expecting another little girl in February. We currently live in the Kansas City area and are moving to a small town in Missouri next week. This isn't just a small town like they only have one Walmart and one Target. This is like there is no stop lights in this town & I'm not even sure if there is a post office. We bought a nice house outside of this 1,800 person town and have 30 acres to live freely on.

I'm 100% a city girl no doubt about it. My husband loves the city too but he is also kind of a country boy. He grew up with the freedom to shoot guns whenever he wanted & to ride dirt bikes on back roads. He was able to fish & hunt in his parents land and honestly he misses that. So we decided that we were going to give our girls the opportunity to grow up free.

This isn't to say you can't be free in the city because you absolutely can be but we want more. I want my girls to help me raise animals (I have no idea what I'm doing in this department but we'll try it). I also want them to help me grow a garden and cook with foods they grew with their bare hands. There is so much pressure on young girls today to look and act a certain way and I never want them to feel that pressure.

Will moving to the country get rid of these pressures? No, I know that. However I hope they are less. I hope they can grow up with an amazing work ethic and the ability to know that had work pays off, confidence comes from within and that nothing can stop them if they truly believe in themselves.

Well I feel as though I may have gone off on a tangent there but I can't help but share my heart sometimes. I hope you all will follow me and share this with others. I hope to fill these pages with crazy stories of learning to raise livestock, gardening, driving a tractor and dealing with 2 under the age of 2.
